Competition of HBCU Queens

The 2016 National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc., (Hall of Fame) Competition of Black College Queens, a program of the 31st Annual Hall of Fame Weekend Conference, will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Atlanta, Georgia.  

During the Hall of Fame Weekend, attendees network with educational, civic and community leaders, participate in workshops, and salute the accomplishments and talents of past and future alumni of these national treasures. The focus for Competition of Black College Queens is to provide an opportunity for young women attending our nations Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to better prepare for the future. The competition encourages the contestants to gain self-awareness, selfconfidence, individual pride, pride for their institution and a greater social awareness overall. The learning outcomes in this national competition are: each contestant will be able to apply principles of effective speaking to improve their ability to communicate effectively, will be able to apply principles of articulation in front of an audience comfortably, will be able to discuss and explain their platform successfully. While the program places emphasis on excellence, achievement and personal growth, it also strives to make this experience FUN! The Hall of Fame Weekend features events tailored specifically for the queens, such as: the Queens Luncheon, A Call to Womanhood, the Queens’ Tea, the Positive Image Program, and various self - improvement empowering workshops.

In order to participate, each Queen is required to complete the Official Miss National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Pageant Entry Form. The Queen must complete the Contestant Fact Sheet, which will include a personal platform of her choice. Furthermore she must be prepared to answer questions regarding her platform during the Private Interview segment of the competition. The Contestant Fact Sheet should be ONE page only and MUST BE TYPED. Each Queen must provide a 3x5 or 5x7 JPEG color headshot photograph without the crown, dressed in business attire which will be featured in the program souvenir booklet. Campus Kings wanting to represent their institutions and support their participating Queen during the Annual Alumni Hall of Fame Weekend Conference and Competition of Black College Queens must provide completed entry form.
